Hub boys crowned NW Region Champs



The Hubbertville Varsity boys were crowned NW Region Champs after defeating the Meek Tigers 69-56 on Monday, Feb. 17. Hub varsity teams crowned area champs

On Monday, Feb. 3, the Hubbertville varsity boys basketball team secured a victory against Lynn in the Area Tournament Semifinals with a score of 63-36. The Lions narrowly defeated Sumiton Christian on Tuesday,  Feb. 4, with a score of 68-67. On Saturday, Feb. 8 the varsity boys was crowned area champions after defeating the Addison Bulldogs 82-47.

The Fayette varsity girls competed in an area tournament at Hamilton on Wednesday, Feb. 5, defeating Haleyville, 49-39.

On Feb. 5, The Fayette County varsity boys were victorious in an area tournament against Haleyville, 48-43. However, on Saturday, Feb. 8, the Tigers faced a narrow defeat against Fultondale, losing 46- 45.

Lady Wildcats finish regular season play with win over Pickens County

The Berry varsity girls basketball team lost 61-36 to Hubbertville on Jan. 24, and lost to Brilliant, 53-38, on Jan. 25.

On Jan. 27, the Lady Wildcats defeated Sumiton Christian 63-24, but lost again to Brilliant 72-41 on Jan. 28. In their final regular-season game on Jan. 30, the girls finished with a 58- 32 win over Pickens Academy.

The Berry varsity boys basketball team lost to Sumiton Christian 90-86 on Jan. 27, but bounced back with a 64-34 victory over Brilliant on Jan. 28. The boys closed out their regular season with a 54-18 win over Pickens Academy on Jan. 30.

The Berry varsity boys team lost to Hubbertville on Monday, Jan. 20, by a score of 67- 50. The Wildcats fell to Lamar County 64-60 on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

On Friday, Jan. 24, the Wildcats fell to Hubbertville, 65-54. Berry secured a 66-32 win against Brilliant on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The Hubbertville varsity boys basketball team had sa string of wins last week. They defeated Sumiton Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 21, with a final score of 88- 70.

The Lions triumphed over Lamar County, 77-56 on Wednesday, Jan. 22. On Friday, Jan. 24, the Lions defeated Berry 65-54.
