Lady Lions beat Sumiton Christian

The Hubbertville Lady Lions won big last week in all three of their games. They defeated Sumiton Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 21, by a score of 67-24.

The Lady Lions defeated Lamar County, 39-28 on Jan. 22 and on Jan. 24 defeated Berry 62-36

Lady Wildcats narrowly defeat Pickens County

On Monday, Jan. 13, the Berry varsity girls basketball team won against Vina High School 45-35.  The Lady Wildcats defeated Oak Grove 35-27 on Tuesday, Jan.14.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, Berry lost to Lynn 48-37. The Lady Wildcats narrowly defeated Pickens County 47-46 on Friday.

FCHS basketball teams sweep games

On Monday, Jan. 13, the Fayette County varsity boys basketball team won against South Lamar 62-57.  The Tigers defeated Hamilton 73-68 on Friday, Jan. 17.

The Fayette County varsity girls basketball team won against South Lamar 68-33 on Monday. 

Tigers, Wildcats, Lions win/suffer losses in early Jan. games

Fayette

On Friday, Jan. 3, the Fayette County varsity boys team won 43-49 against Northside. The Tigers lost their game against Haleyville 54-77 on Jan. 7, and on Jan. 9, Fayette won their game against Winfield 73-71.

On Jan. 7, the Lady Tigers secured a big area win 55-54 over Haleyville.

Berry

On Jan. 6,  the Berry varsity boys team lost 78-45 to Sumiton Christian. The Wildcats lost 63-54 to Phillips on Jan. 9.

On Jan. 6, the Berry varsity girls team lost to Sumiton Christian 38-41. The Lady Wildcats also lost to Phillips 37-54 on Jan. 9.

Fayette defeats Hubbertville’s boys

Fayette’s boys’ basketball team traveled to Hubbertville last Friday night and defeated the Lions 70-41. Will Jackson led Fayette with 24 points and four assists, followed by Taylor Kelly with nine points and three steals. Tucker Whitley had eight points, five rebounds and five assists, while Landon Kimbrell scored seven points and Keyshaun Hughes added six points. Elijah Benton scored five points, Max McDonald, Scott Davis and Jake Rickman scored three points each, and Isaiah Estep added two points.

 

Hubbertville basketball teams defeat Berry


Kylee Dunn of Hubbertville was presented a basketball by Coach Caleb Hynds, commemorating her 1,000th point scored.

Hubbertville boys’ basketball team traveled to Lynn on Jan. 9 and was defeated by the Bears 57-35. Cole Brand led the Lions in scoring with 10 points, followed by Kane Rushing with eight points. Cam Pendley had six points, Blaize Wakefield added five points, while Kade Watkins and Sebashton Harris had three points each. On Jan. 12, Hubbertville hosted Berry and won by the score of 52-48.
