Bevill opens baseball season with two wins

The Bevill State Bears hosted Bishop State for an opening day double-header on Saturday, Feb. 8 and swept the games by the scores of 12-11 and 1-0.The first game was a matchup of offensive power, with Bishop State scoring a single run in each of the first five innings. Bishop State took an early 2-0 lead into the bottom of the second inning before Bevill managed to break through with three runs to take the lead.

BSCC receives Alabama Power grant

Bevill participates in 'Clean Home Alabama'

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, approximately 100 Bevill State Community College, Fayette Campus, students participated in the Alabama Community College System’s “Clean Home Alabama” initiative. In addition to students, teachers and faculty members also participated in the event. With more than 60 projects across the state, Clean Home Alabama is ACCS’s contribution to help “Keep Alabama Beautiful” as part of the state’s bicentennial year. Alabama’s 24 community colleges are hosting projects in every corner of the state, showcasing their commitment to serve their communities.

Bevill celebrates ‘Pink-Out’

Bevill celebrated a “Pink-Out” tailgate party and volleyball match on Thursday, Oct. 10 in recognition of breast cancer awareness. Students and faculty enjoyed grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and snacks prior to the Lady Bears match against Andrews College. Bevill State completed the afternoon of cancer awareness by defeating Andrew College 25-18, 25-10 and 25-13 in straight sets to win the match.

 

Bevill students visit Mercedes

Manufacturing Day, Oct. 4, is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. In honor of that, Bevill State Community College’s Vehicle Technology and Repair (VTR) students from the Hamilton campus and Electrical Systems Technology (ELT) students from the Fayette and Hamilton campuses were invited to tour the Mercedes-Benz plant on Thursday, Oct. 3.  

 

Bevill hosts career fair for students

Bevill State Community College hosted a career fair on Friday, April 26 for high school students in Fayette and Lamar County. The career fair is a partnership between Bevill State, 3M, Northwest Alabama Economic Alliance, the Alabama Career Center and the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service.

 

Bevill Foundation donates bus to Fayette Campus

Bevill State Community College announced the donation of a 2019 Startran PS/2 bus by the Bevill State Foundation to the Fayette campus. On Friday, March 22, the passenger bus was delivered to the Fayette campus of the college, where the keys were presented by board members of the Bevill Foundation.
