The annual PCA Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association rodeo was held on April 8 - 9 at the Fayette County Multipurpose Complex and was enjoyed by a large group of patrons each night.

The Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association held its annual Steak Supper and Banquet on Thursday, June 10 at the Scout Building in Fayette. Outgoing President Charlie Dale Jones welcomed the crowd of approximately 100 members to the event. Local resident Randy Slay, a regional vice-president of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, gave the keynote address.

The Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association held its annual steak supper and banquet on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Boy Scout Building in Fayette. Regional Vice-President Randy Slay, who is a member of the Fayette Cattlemen’s Association, told the audience in attendance that Alabama has been aggressive in passing laws that will ensure consumers that the meat sold in Alabama “is really meat.”

The Fayette Cattlemen’s Association will host its 13th annual Professional Cowboy Association (PCA) sanctioned rodeo on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at the Fayette Multi-Purpose Complex. The rodeos will begin each night at 7:30 p.m.

The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association membership elected Randy Slay of Fayette as regional vice-president at its annual membership meeting, held in conjunction with the 76th annual convention and trade show in Birmingham on Feb. 16.

The Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association installed its officers for 2019 during its annual Steak Supper and Banquet, held on Feb. 23 at the Boy Scout Building in Fayette. New officers for the year will be Charlie Dale Jones, president; Jimmy Trice, vice-president; Laura Rainey, treasurer; and Brad Cox, secretary. Ali Cantrell, director of education and outreach for the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association, spoke briefly during the banquet, urging members to keep up with proposed legislation that might affect cattle producers.
This is one of the many brave cowboys who took a turn at riding one of the ferocious bulls at the rodeo. On Saturday night, the bulls pitched a shutout, as all of the riders made a quick exit off their rides.

The Fayette Cattlemen’s Association will host its 12th annual PCA sanctioned Rodeo on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 at the Fayette Multi-Purpose Complex. The rodeos will begin each night at 7:30 p.m. The rodeo will include bull and bronco riding, calf roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing. There will be several events just for kids also, including gold rush, chicken chase, greased pig and the calf scramble, in addition to pony rides.
