Driver receives scholarship

The Fayette County Education Retiree’s Association (FCERA) met on April 5 at the Fayette Civic Center.  President Frances Bulter welcomed all in attendance. Elizabeth Driver, a senior at Fayette County High School, was the recipient of the FCERA Scholarship. She will continue her education at Bevill State Community College in the fall.  

 

Former Fayette resident awarded Fulbright Scholarship


Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, formerly of Fayette, was recently awarded the Fulbright Scholarship.

The U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced that Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) Professor of History in the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, has received a prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to teach American History in Slovakia next fall and spring.

 

Linton signs baseball scholarship

Bret Linton, 2018 graduate of Fayette County High School, held a scholarship signing on July 21 at the Fayette Civic Center. Bret Linton signed to play catcher on the baseball team of the MUW Owls of Columbus, Miss., while pursuing a degree in business. Bret Linton thanked MUW, his coaches, family and friends for their support and help throughout his baseball career.

Bonds receives scholarship

Gracie Bonds, student at the University of Alabama, recently received the Alpha Xi Fayette Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma’s Scholarship Grant-in-Aid. Bonds is a graduate and Salutatorian of Hubbertville High School, an Ambassador Scholarship Recipient for Bevill State Community College and is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama majoring in special education.
