The Fayette Civic Center and Art Museum is celebrating its 40th anniversary this Saturday, March 25, and the whole town is invited. The Civic Center was constructed in 1930 as the Fayette Elementary School, and was used as a school until the current elementary school was fully opened.
The Fayette Civic Center will host a Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 featuring Fayette native Mart Avant and “The Night Flight Big Band.” The concert will also feature Annie McClendon on vocals. Avant said that the band will combine traditional Christmas music with standard big band tunes for the concert.
Self Express Productions and the Fayette Arts Council proudly announces that a live musical production of the Disney classic Mary Poppins will be held at the Fayette Civic Center on July 26-29. Mary Poppins was one of the most popular Disney movies of all-time and later became a Broadway musical with more than 2,500 performances. It is a story of how Mary Poppins uses magic and musical enchantment to win over two young children and their family.
