Community Calendar events

The Fayette County Democratic Committee will meet Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Fayette Civic Center. 

There will be a Bbq and blue jeans benefit for Magnolia Ranch on Saturday, June 13 at 5 p.m. at Timber Valley Lodge, 1900 Co. Rd. 89, Fayette. There will be property tours, a Bbq dinner, music by Cade Bagwell and Win-Wheel. Tickets are $25, and VIP tickets are $40. A 2026 Polaris Ranger 1000 will be raffled. Tickets are $100, or 12 for $1000.

The Kirkland Bluff Wayside Volunteer Fire Dept. will have a fish fry fundraiser on Saturday, June 13 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Kirkland Community Center. Plates will be $15 each and include fish or chicken, beans, slaw, fries, hushpuppies, dessert and a drink. Dine-in or carry out. Fish is fresh not frozen. 

National Garden Week will be Sunday, June 7 through Saturday, June 13. It is sponsored by National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Fayette Garden Club.

Church services are now being held every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Fayette Housing Authority community center on Sixth Street. Rev. Robert Freeman presiding.

Women’s AA will now meet on Thursdays at 9 a.m. at The Loft. Sometimes, women aren’t comfortable discussing all of their issues in the presence of men. Here is a safe place, the Pink Serenity Group of AA. Private entrance behind The Loft.
