Bevill State Community College is poised to benefit from the legislative support of the historic Education Trust Fund Budget passed during the 2023 legislative session. Notable points of this ETF budget include:
• $551,286,557 allocated to the Alabama Community College System;
• $280,000 specifically earmarked for all the Bevill State Community College campuses;
• $350,000 designated for the Alabama Mine Safety Training Program located on the Bevill State Sumiton Campus;

Entrepreneurs and small business owners are encouraged to take advantage of the new “HUB” – Small Business Plan Workstation locations that were recently launched at the following three locations in Northwest Alabama: Vernon City Hall Library, Bevill State Community College - Hamilton Campus, Bevill State Community College – Fayette Campus.

The Bevill State Community College Department of Adult Education is proud to announce the launch of a new online Pharmacy Tech training class. The interactive online course is free of charge to individuals who qualify for Adult Education services.

Bevill State Community College has partnered with The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing as part of the “UAB School of Nursing/Community College Joint Enrollment Pathway” to offer Bevill State students a seamless path from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The UAB School of Nursing/Community College Joint Enrollment Pathway is for students who are interested in earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree while still enrolled in their associate degree program.

Bevill State Community College Division of Workforce Solutions announces the return of the college’s Real Estate program. The first classes will be held on the Fayette Campus beginning July 31.

Two Bevill State Community College (BSCC) - Fayette Campus students have been selected to the 2022 All-Alabama Academic Team. Harley Anne Lawrence (GPA: 4.0), of Kennedy, and Lindsie Jo Moseley (GPA: 4.0), of Vernon,  were honored for their accomplishments during the Annual All-Alabama Community College Academic Team Recognition Ceremony on Friday, April 22, in Birmingham.

Alex Moore, the new Electrical System Technology instructor at Bevill State Community College in Fayette, is used to accomplishing a lot at a young age. Moore graduated in 2018 from Fayette County High School and when he walked across the stage to receive his diploma, he had already earned more than 30 credit hours as a dual enrollment student at Bevill State Community College.

Kyla Edmonson, senior at Berry High School and pitcher for the Lady Wildcats softball team, signed a scholarship offer on Jan. 21 to continue her softball career at Bevill State Community College of Sumiton.

Dr. Joel Hagood, president of Bevill State Community College, spoke to the audience at the Fayette Area Chamber of Commerce’s “after-hours” event about the college’s vision and strategic plan for the next five years. Also speaking briefly at the event was Leeanna Burkhalter. Burkhalter is a senior at Fayette County High School and is the current state president of Alabama FFA.
