Fayette hosts Farm-City Dinner

The Fayette County Farmers Federation held its annual Farm-City Dinner on Nov. 21 at the Boy Scout building in Fayette. The dinner was a lead-in to Farm-City week, which is celebrated Nov. 22-28 this year to coincide with the Thanksgiving season. Don Mulvaney, professor of animal science at Auburn University, was the featured speaker for the dinner, and told the crowd about some of the challenges facing farmers today. Farmers are being asked to grow more and better agricultural products as both the numbers of farmers and available farm land is increasingly shrinking.
