A new community-wide ladies Bible study will begin Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. at Fayette First Baptist Church. The video study “James - What you do matters” by Margret Feinberg will be taught. FAYETTE CO. EDUCATION RETIREES ASSOCIATION TO MEET
The Fayette County Education Retirees Association (FCERA) will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Fayette Civic Center in observance of Black History Month. Rev. Willie C. Moore, Pastor of Canaan Baptist Church, Fayette, will be the guest speaker.
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church will pass out beans and rice on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. No documentation or income verifications are required.
The Fayette County Baptist Association will offer classes through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary starting in January. These classes lead toward a Certificate in Biblical Ministry or a Certificate in Biblical Teaching through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a Seminary operated and funded through the Southern Baptist Convention. These credits may be used toward an Undergraduate degree through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Fayette County Republican Party will open qualifying for prospective candidates on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, and qualifying will close on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at 5 p.m. Applications can be obtained and fees paid at the Tuesday, Jan. 13 party meeting located at the Fayette Civic Center at 7 p.m. If candidates wish to qualify before or after the meeting, please contact the county chairman at (205) 303-9442 to obtain an application and pay fees. Fees for part-time elected positions are $250 and full-time elected positions are $500.
