Military service leads to birth of a church

As Veterans Day approaches, we reflect on the remarkable stories of service and sacrifice that have shaped our nation. One such story is that of Milborn Savage, whose service highlights dedication, faith, and unity.

Veterans Day Program at Fayette Middle School

FCHS, Bevill to host Veterans Day Program



Fayette County High School and Bevill State Community College will host its annual “Communitywide Veterans Day Program" at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6 in the Earl McDonald Auditorium on the Fayette Campus of Bevill State. The guest speaker for the event will be United States Navy Veteran James A. Henry, a 1992 graduate of Fayette County High School.

 

Veterans hear Stevenson thank them for service


Pictured are many of the local veterans who attended the 2021 Veterans Day Program, held at Bevill State Community College on Monday, Nov. 8. The veterans in attendance included World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans, in addition to veterans who have served in more recent conflicts.

The annual community Veterans Day program, co-sponsored by Fayette County High School and Bevill State Community College, was held on Monday, Nov. 8 at the Earl McDonald Auditorium at Bevill State in Fayette. The featured speaker for the program this year was Chance Stevenson, a 2018 graduate of Fayette County High School and currently a senior at the United States Air Force Academy.

Many veterans attended the 2020 Veterans Day Program, held at John Morgan Brown Stadium on Nov. 9. The event was sponsored by Fayette County High School and Bevill State Community College, and featured Captain Brian Walden of Sanford University as the guest speaker.
