Grand jury to hear Benton Case

A Fayette County grand jury will decide if Timothy Vess Benton will remain on house arrest or return to prison. Judge Jim Gentry issued the ruling in a Tuscaloosa County Court room on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Benton allegedly violated the SORNA Act and as a result was arrested on  Sept. 4 after being placed in the Fayette County Community Corrections Program.

Investigation into Spinato homicide still underway

Kenneth “Kenny” Spinato was found dead in his home during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022. Investigators quickly determined Spinato had been a victim of homicide.

Three years later, no arrests have been made and the case remains open. Despite years of investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, the circumstances surrounding Spinato’s death remain a mystery.
