SHERRY RICKMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. Sherry Nance Rickman, age 73 of Fayette, were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, from Southside Baptist Church. Burial followed in Fayette Memorial Gardens. She died Monday, Jan 12.
She was born Feb. 23, 1952, in York to Robert Allen and Mae Ola Nance. She graduated from Aliceville High School in 1970 and lived most of her life in Aliceville.  Sherry retired from the State of Alabama DHR.  
Sherry loved to sew, cook, and spend time with her family. She loved to go to Alabama football games and watch her grands play sports. She played piano and organ at her home church West End Baptist Church in Aliceville for many years.  She loved keeping up with and praying for her friends on social media. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Fayette.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Allen Nance and her mother, Mae Ola Nance.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, William Rickman Jr.; two sons, Bill Rickman (Mitzi) of Fayette and Bob Rickman (Heather) of Alabaster; daughter, Jessica Porter (David) of Fayette; two sisters, Gloria Brownlee (Richard) of Guin, Janet Ezzell of Canadian, Texas; brother, Randy Nance of Fayette; seven grandsons, Brent Rickman, Brandon Rickman, Reese Rickman, Carter Rickman, Jake Rickman, Graham Rickman and Jackson Wilkins; four granddaughters, Allie Rickman, Bella Wilkins, Caidee  Porter and Abby Porter; three great grandchildren, Julia Wells Rickman, Austin Riley Rickman and Olivia Drew Rickman.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the JakeMadeStrong Foundation for MS research, 2740 Co Rd 85, Fayette, AL 35555.
