DORIS SELMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Selman, age 81 of Bankston, were held Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 3 p.m. from New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Bankston. Burial  followed in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Adam Smith officiated. She died Thursday, June 26,  at home.
Mrs. Selman was a member of New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. She worked in the sewing industry for most of her life and cherished the friendships she made with her many co-workers over the years. She loved sewing, assembling jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.
Special thanks to Dr. Martha Jo Christian and the staffs of Fayette Medical Center and Amedisys Hospice Hamilton for the exceptional care and support they provided.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Selman; parents, Jesse and Dullie Rainey; and sister, Catherine Gilliam.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Webb (Patrick) and Donna Benefield (Donny); son, David Selman (Shana); grandchildren, Holly Parson (Kris), Nicholas Selman (Tanner), Lillianna Selman and Andrea Roberts (Daniel); and great-grandchildren, Olleigha Parson, Talley and Tylyn Selman and Hadleigh Roberts.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Selman, Kris Parson, Vick Selman, Ray Selman, Randy Rainey and Greg Rainey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Liberty FWB Church Building Fund, 2035 County Road 49, Bankston, AL 35542.
