SANDRA JEFFRIES LAWRENCE
Funeral services for Mrs. Sandra Jeffries Lawrence, age 84, of Fayette, were held Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at 2 p.m.from Fayette First Baptist Church with internment in the Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Scott Davis officiated. She died Saturday, Oct. 11.
Sandra graduated from Fayette County High School in 1959 and from The University of Alabama in 1963 with a degree in Education. She was a schoolteacher for thirty years.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who committed herself to providing a loving home for her husband and her three children. Her greatest joys came in spending her life with the man she told her mother in 6th grade that she was going to marry and in raising their three children. She was also a great encourager to all the children who passed through her classroom over the years.
She was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a longtime member of Fayette First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned Morton Jeffries and Rubye Aston Jeffries; and her grandparents, F. M. Jeffries and Della Morton Jeffries and Henry Walter Aston and Dora McDonald Aston.
She is survived by her husband of 62 and a half years, Jerry D. Lawrence, Sr.; son, Jerry Dale Lawrence, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Bridget Lawrence of Fayette; son, Ned Jeffries Lawrence of Charlotte, North Carolina; and daughter, Melissa Lawrence Watts and son-in-law, Thomas Shad Watts of Birmingham; grandchildren, Julia Lawrence Buck (Russell), Jerry D. Lawrence, III, Marc Cooper Lawrence and Thomas Garrett Watts; and great grandson, Robert Alexander Buck.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lawrence, III, Cooper Lawrence, Garrett Watts, Russell Buck, Ned Cargile and Joey Murray.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
