There will be a new community-wide ladies Bible study Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at Fayette First Baptist Church. The Newtonville Community Center, 490 Center Rd., Fayette, will have a fish plate sale Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Catfish plates will be $15 each and Whiting plates will be $12 each. Sides will be: hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans, pasta salad, cake, bread and water. Proceeds will benefit the Newtonville Community Center.
The Kennedy High School Reunion will be held Saturday, August 15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Historical Building in Kennedy. The school burned down in 1986. The old ag building is the only thing left. Many citizens, veterans and former students spent countless hours and money trying to preserve it. Don’t let them down. Come out and support this beautiful community center.
WASTE MANAGEMENT EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS TO BE ACCEPTED
The sign up for the waste management billing exemption is during the months of Aug. and Sept. The deadline to apply is Sept. 30. Sign up must be done annually. Applicants must have the following: a completed notarized form, three consecutive bank statements, print out of monthly social security earnings and the combined household income. There is a $10 sign up fee.
The 56th Fayette Arts Festival will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Fayette Civic Center/Art Museum. Applications for artists/vendors are now being accepted until Aug. 14. For more information, call (205) 932-8727.
