The Fayette Co. Democrats will meet Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. at the Fayette Civic Center.

ST. MICHAEL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, Fayette, will have beans and rice and a hot breakfast Saturday, Aug. 29 at 9 a.m.

MIRACLES OF FAITH WORSHIP CENTER, 4810 Hwy. 18 E., Fayette, will have a singing Saturday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. Milborn Savage and the Masterpieces will be the guest singers. The pastor is Doug Mitchell. Everyone is welcome.

MT. JOY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, Fayette, will have pastor appreciation services Sunday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. The guest church and pastor will be Rev. Timothy Whitson and Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church from Fayette. Pastor of Mt. Joy is Rev. Kelcey Hale.

NEW RIVER BAPTIST CHURCH, Co. Rd. 44, will have a yard sale to benefit the youth of the church Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. until.

CONCORD BAPTIST CHURCH, 10730 Co. Rd. 12, Fayette, will have a singing featuring the Jordan Family Band Saturday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. A love offering will be taken.

There will be a new community-wide ladies Bible study Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at Fayette First Baptist Church. The Newtonville Community Center, 490 Center Rd., Fayette, will have a fish plate sale Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Catfish plates will be $15 each and Whiting plates will be $12 each.  Sides will be: hush puppies, cole slaw, baked beans, pasta salad, cake, bread and water. Proceeds will benefit the Newtonville Community Center.

The Kennedy High School Reunion will be held Saturday, August 15  from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Historical Building in Kennedy. The school burned down in 1986. The old ag building is the only thing left. Many citizens, veterans and former students spent countless hours and money trying to preserve it. Don’t let them down. Come out and support this beautiful community center.

WASTE MANAGEMENT EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS TO BE ACCEPTED

The sign up for the waste management billing exemption is during the months of Aug. and Sept. The deadline to apply is Sept. 30. Sign up must be done annually. Applicants must have the following: a completed notarized form, three consecutive bank statements, print out of monthly social security earnings and the combined household income. There is a $10 sign up fee.

The 56th Fayette Arts Festival will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Fayette Civic Center/Art Museum. Applications for artists/vendors are now being accepted until Aug. 14. For more information, call (205) 932-8727.
