Crash results in one injury

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, Fayette police and fire responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of 2nd Ave. N.E. and 10th Street N.W.

According to the crash report, the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse was attempting to turn onto 10th St. N.E. She told officers that no vehicles were waiting at the red light to turn in the opposite direction and that she did not see any cars approaching in the outside lane before initiating the turn.

The report states that the driver of a 2019 Buick Encore was traveling south on 2nd Ave. in the outside lane and approaching the intersection at the time of the Chevrolet’s turn. The Traverse driver said that by the time she saw the Buick, it was too late to stop, resulting in the collision. One injury was reported during the incident.
