Council approves change in wastewater employees’s pay

The Fayette City Council approved changing the way that two wastewater operators’ pay is calculated during its Jan. 24 meeting. All council members were present at the meeting. Mayor Rod Northam said that the wastewater treatment plant supervisor, Matt Buckner, had asked that wastewater plant operators Matt McCaa and Danny McCaleb’s pay be changed from salary to hourly. In changing the way the pay is calculated, each of the operators would receive approximately nine hours overtime every two weeks.
