Tigers host football jamboree

Fayette played host to a preseason jamboree last Friday night, prior to the start of the regular season this week. The Tigers played its first game against Northside, with the starters playing the first quarter and reserves playing the second quarter.

 

County baseball teams out after first round of playoffs

All three county high school baseball teams made the Alabama High School Baseball Playoffs this year as area runner-ups, but all three teams had to travel for the first round of the playoffs and saw their seasons come to an abrupt end. Fayette traveled to play Lauderdale County and lost the first game by the score of 4-2.

The Berry Lady Wildcats defeated Hubbertville by the score of 2-0 on April 4 in the only game that either school played last week. Maggie Mauldin pitched the complete game shutout, allowing only five hits and striking out nine batters to record the victory.

 

Former Kennedy High School holds reunion

Approximately 100 former students and faculty members of the former Kennedy High School in Lamar County gathered on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Kennedy Historical Building for a school reunion. The attendees enjoyed reminiscing about the good times they enjoyed at the school, and they also enjoyed seeing former classmates that they had not seen in years.
