The Berry Wildcats hosted Lynn for Homecoming in the hopes of upsetting the 8th ranked Bears. Lynn won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.
Berry traveled to Millport to face the South Lamar Stallions in the hope of starting the season 4 - 0 for the first time since 2009. South Lamar won the toss and elected to receive the opening kick-off.
Berry Head Football Coach Hunter Mims begins this season with 32 players on the roster, up 14 players from the 18 players that the team finished its 2-8 season with one year ago. This increase in numbers gives Mims a renewed optimism that this season will be much better for the Wildcats’ football team.
The Berry Wildcats began its 2018 football campaign by hosting the Class 2A Sulligent Blue Devils for the first time since 2007. The Wildcats and Blue Devils played a close game, with both teams bitten by the turnover bug. In the end, Sulligent escaped with an eight-point victory.
