MICHAEL L. "MIKE" COOK

Funeral services for Mr. Michael L. “Mike” Cook, age 68, of Sulligent, will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. from Otts Funeral Home Chapel.  Bro. Stanley Blaylock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery.Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. He died Thursday, March 5, at NMMC in Tupelo, Miss.
Mike was born on September 21, 1957, in Vernon to Lester  and Frances Frye Cook. He was a 1975 graduate of Sulligent High School.  Mike was previously employed at Hyster and worked as a car salesman for Maddox Motor Co., Boyett GMC, Boyett Chevrolet, and was a General Manager at Yerby Chevrolet and Mike Freeman Chevrolet, Freeman Polaris in Fayette.  Mike was an instrumental part in his community, always serving any way he could and making friends everywhere he went.  He enjoyed serving as a member of the North Lamar Rescue Squad and loved working on cars.  Mike previously attended Freewill Chapel FWB Church and People’s Tabernacle.  His charismatic personality and humble heart will forever be cherished and never forgotten by all those who loved and knew him.  
He was precede in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Marshall Cook (Charity) of Sulligent; and several cousins.
Honorary pallbearers are former coworkers who worked with Mike in the Chevrolet business
Pallbearers will be  John Boyett, Brent Boyett, Patrick Boyett, Scott Porter, Al Stephens and Ben Pickle.
