The annual Fayette Christmas Parade was a huge success, with an unusually large number of entrants in this year’s parade. The parade featured the FCHS band, floats, decorated cars and four-wheelers, fire trucks, horses and a visit from Santa.
Haleigh Ingle and Julia Nolen are carrying on a proud tradition of majorettes from Fayette County High School twirling for the Million Dollar Band at The University of Alabama. No other high school has produced more Crimsonettes than Fayette County High School, earning FCHS the well-deserved title of “Crimsonette High.”
Heath Nails, the new band director at Fayette County High School, said that he is well aware of the legacy of the FCHS band program, including the tremendous success the program enjoyed for many years under the direction of legendary director Jerry Bobo. “The Fayette band program has a long history of excellence,” Nails said. “Everybody knows Jerry Bobo and the quality bands that he had at Fayette. I saw this as an opportunity for me to be a part of something special.”
The Fayette County High School Marching Band played in Governor Kay Ivey's inauguration parade in Montgomery on Jan. 14.
