ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids will be received by the Fayette County Commission in the Board of Education Meeting Room at the Fayette County Courthouse Annex, located at 103 1st Avenue NW, Fayette, Alabama 35555, until 2:00 p.m. CST, on September 10, 2015 for construction of an expansion to Fayette County Water Authority’s water distribution system known as County Road 21 Connection/2015 Expansions, at which time they will be opened and read.

The project consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for completing the project according to the plans, details, specifications, and contract documents. The principal quantities of said Fayette County Water Authority project are as follows: approximately 12,000 LF 6” PVC water main, 27,000 LF 3” PVC water main, 360 LF 6” DI water main, one Pressure Reducing Valve Station,  valves, fire hydrants, and appurtenances.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held in the Board of Education Meeting Room at the Fayette County Courthouse Annex at the above address on September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. CST.

Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents are open for public inspection and may be obtained from the office of the Engineer, McGiffert and Associates, LLC, 2814 Stillman Boulevard, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401, and upon a deposit of $100.00 per set, made payable to McGiffert and Associates, LLC. Deposits by Prime Contractors are refundable upon receipt of a bona fide bid and upon the return of the drawings and specifications in good condition within ten days after the bid opening.  Additional sets for Prime Contractors, Subcontractors, Material Suppliers, Plan Rooms, and others may obtain drawings and specifications at the cost of $100.00 per set, which is not refundable.

Bid security shall be deposited with each bid as provided in Instructions to Bidders.  No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.  All bidders shall meet licensing requirements of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama.

The contract awarded under this ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS is expected to be funded in part by a grant from the US Environmental Protection Agency. Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies or employees is or will be party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting contract.

LEGAL NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 9-16-70 et. Seq. Alabama Code,  1975, Jim Walter Resources, Inc. hereby gives notice that it has filed for Phase I,  II,  and III bond release application (Increment  No.   5)   with  the  Alabama  Surface  Mining Commission for release of performance bonds for Permit P-3222.

The area of land for Increment No. 5 for which bond release is requested consists of a total of 11 acres located in the:

The SW of NW and NW of NW of Section 29, and the SE of NE and NE of NE of Section 30, all within Township 17 South, Range 10 West, Tuscaloosa Co, Alabama.

The permittee maintains that as of June 2, 2015, all of the requirements   of  the   regulatory  authority  concerning reclamation   (revegetation)   of  these  areas  have  been completed in compliance with State Law and regulations and the approved reclamation plan. The permittee therefore is requesting  release  of  $97,750.00 (100%) of the performance bond of Increment No. 5.
